A delicious mixture of butter, cinnamon, light brown sugar and my secret ingredient... orange zest!
Chopped pecans are scattered on top, adding a lovely crunchy texture in each cinnamon roll swirl.
Starting from the short end, the dough is rolled up into a log-shape with the filling compact inside.
The most satisfying part (in my opinion) is slicing into the dough and seeing the beautiful swirls!
The cinnamon rolls are baked for 20-25 minutes until until golden and risen. The filling should be gooey and caramelised (yum!).
A cinnamon roll isn't a cinnamon roll without a generous coating of cream cheese frosting. Maple syrup adds a delicate sweetness to the frosting.
